How Discoveries Happen
Discoveries are recorded through normal gameplay. Biomes and structures are recognized as you explore them, while resources are tied to first acquisition or mining behavior and hostile mobs can be recognized through combat.
The goal is for the Journal to fill naturally as your claimed world grows.
